Associate professor Predrag Pale, Ph.D. and assistant professor Juraj Petrović, Ph.D. are members of the educational technology research group at the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, Department of Electronic Systems and Information Processing. Interests of the group are related to using ICT in education and include research and development of lecture capture technology, research of lecture capture usage outcomes, computer-based assessment, and scalability in large-enrolment classes.

Associació Verificat is a Barcelona-based non-profit fact-checking platform dedicated to political and scientific fact-checking, and to education for the critical consumption of information. Verificat’s newsroom continuously monitors Catalan news, through methods grounded in fact-checking, investigative and transparency journalism, and data journalism. Verificat is highly active in media literacy and education and maintains an education programme in which it works with school students, university students, and young people on basic verification techniques and to instill digital information responsibility.

LINK has a special responsibility for ensuring knowledge sharing, creating networks across subjects and disciplines, further developing teaching expertise and increasing students’ learning outcomes across the University of Oslo. We are a resource for lecturers, students and units, and our activities are developed with research-based knowledge about higher education. We have a strong media production unit, with comprehensive film production skills.

The University of Michigan’s Center for Academic Innovation is committed to bringing educational opportunities from the university to a global network of lifelong learners. Through curricular innovation in online, hybrid, and blended programmes, use of emerging technologies like extended reality, the development of tools for student success and equity, and educational research and analytics, the centre is working toward a future in which education connects and empowers learners on campus and around the world to reach their full potential throughout their lives.

The University of Groningen was founded in 1614 and has over 6.000 fte staff and 36.000 students, spread over 11 faculties. It participates in various national and international projects aiming at innovating the use of multimedia in education. The university has so far published 14 MOOCs on the Futurelearn platform. Its facilities include professional broadcasting studios and a growing number of do-it-yourself studios. In addition, the Reality Center offers highly advanced Virtual Reality (VR) facilities for research and education.

The University of Galway was founded in 1845 and is located in western Ireland on the rugged coast of the Atlantic Ocean. It has a student population of nearly 19,000, 17% of which are international students from 122 countries. FORLILPSI is an interdisciplinary department that embraces research areas ranging from educational science and psychology to languages, philology and literature. The aim of the department is to conduct research and promote learning in the area of relationships between languages, cultures, minds, behaviours, and education.

The Digital Education Service now has a dedicated team of more than 90 professionals, experts in the fields of learning design, multimedia production, student education and marketing. We are committed to continuous professional development through working with other organisations to ensure our team (and our courses) remain at the cutting-edge of online education and play a part in shaping online learning for the sector.

UPV is a public University with 30,000 students and 4,000 staff. It is the first technological university in Spain according to international rankings and focuses mainly on engineering and technical studies. It is the second-largest MOOC provider between European Universities. It is also known in the Educational Technology area, with their Flipped Teaching initiative and is a member of the Media and Learning association and the Opencast community for video in education.
